Avascular necrosis of both femoral heads
Lower Back Pain and pain at a point in hip. Pain on sitting i.e. folding legs and while resting in different positions other than laying straight. Pain after walking. Pain in hip area Started since October 2019. Diagnosed avascular necrosis in MRI fistulogram when gone to laproscopic doctors for anal problems due to pain in anal region and inner thighs. Was not able to sit since February 2020. Doctor confirmed no presence of ano rectal problems and referred to Orthopedist. Focussed on trying to get a non surgical solution to avascular necrosis. I am just 24 and want to avoid surgeries.

AVN per se does not have successful medicinal management. Discussion can be there between saving your femoral head or sacrificing with a Hip Replacement. This decision is taken based on Joint changes and Femoral Head status.

Hello Practo User, There is no medical treatment to reverse AVN. Neither any alternative therapies can achieve that. Yes,by taking precautions surgery can be delayed. It depends on how much is the damage to the Hip joints and how long surgery can be prolonged.

There are many people around who offer you medications to reverse the problem..but nothing is proven in the medical literature till now...so be cautious not to fall their trap. Regards.
