Hi doctor, My dad has been diagnosed with tuberculosis last month and we are getting treatment from private hospital. Heard there are free Medicine facility available for tuberculosis. Can you please guide how do I register my father for free medicine. As I can see in  private hospital for tuberculosis medicines are charged .

According to your query and sign and symptom you want to know about the disease and cause and it's best Treatment as you have mentioned as above  as free medicine for TB . Tb is given treatment for 6-18 months depending on the severity and immunocompromised state .. govt meds sometimes might not work properly due to various reasons .. do follow up when the meds r getting over and pls connect for a detailed discussion about ur dad's health ..all the very best for his speedy recovery

Get registered with RNTCP DOTS provider If the blood workup of your father is normal ..he can take these medicine given by government If there is some issue with renal or liver function ..these medicine cannot be used as these are combination drugs and some drugs are to be avoided if there is a known comorbidity
