I sprained my left ankle 6 weeks ago and it was diagnosed as GRADE 2 ATFL injury while playing badminton. I got temporary splint for 8 days then I am taking the support of ankle binder and doing icing 3 times a day. I have been coming to office since last week daily. Sometimes my ankle swell up if i stand or sit for an hour or so then after icing and elevating it the swelling reduces. I am able to put pressure on my feet and walking has improved 60% since injury. My question is why my feet swelling up again and again plus if there is any need of MRI OR OPERATION?? Should I take WFH from office or can I go to office ??

You have take up good measures for the healing of your ATFL .. but as ankle is weight bearing part of body it’ll take longer to heal it may take upto 12 weeks for the complete healing
You can continue with ice pack and limb elevation and restricted weight bearing
I don’t think there is a role for new MRl you can continue your daily activities with the above precautions

Try not to stand for long hours and avoid walking very long distances at one stretch .. climbing stairs should be done without pressure on the affected ankle
Most of the ankle injuries and sprains tend to have repeated swelling on excess activity or walking...
Unless you have pain , you can just observe
