Apathy, anhedonia, head tightness
29. Male. 5'6". 75 kg. Lactovegetarian. Current taking Desvenlafaxine 50 mg, Aripiprazole 5 mg, paliperidone 100 mg monthly depot injection. Problem started in 2016. I started feeling apathetic, emotionless, lacking ability to feel pleasure, dry from inside, head empty feeling, irritable in 3rd year of college. Also had sudden weight loss and had reduced physical and mental sensitivity. Starting 2019 some problems changed while some were added. Inattention, hyperactive behavior, lack of impulse control, increased sugar and easy pleasure cravings. Also from feeling empty headed went to feeling tightness and blocked feeling in head. The later problems in my experience seem to be connected to stomach as one day I ate noodles frankie, drank milkshake and walked for 4-5 kilometers and I began feeling great. Head became functional and symptoms disappeared for few hours only to return. Couldn't replicate that remission of symptoms later.

Your symptoms suggest a mix of gut-brain axis imbalance, Vata aggravation, and possible neurotransmitter dysregulation. Ayurvedic & Lifestyle Suggestions: 1. Herbal Support: Brahmi Vati (1 tablet twice daily) – Supports cognitive function. Ashwagandha Churna (½ tsp with warm milk at night) – Reduces stress & anxiety. Shankhpushpi Syrup (10 ml twice daily) – Enhances focus & emotional balance. 2. Gut & Diet Balance: Favor warm, easily digestible foods (khichdi, ghee, fresh fruits). Avoid processed, fried, and heavy dairy foods. Include buttermilk with rock salt & cumin for digestion. 3. Lifestyle & Yoga: Regular Abhyanga (oil massage with sesame oil) – Calms Vata. Bhramari & Anulom Vilom Pranayama – Improves mental clarity. Mild sun exposure & daily walking – Supports neurotransmitter balance. Since your symptoms improved after food, focus on gut health and nourishing the nervous system. Panchakarma therapy (Basti & Nasya) can help reset imbalances. Consult an Ayurvedic physician for personalized detoxification.
