Hello dear, There are many issues worth dealing here, so let's please outline the issues- 1. Impact of marriage plan not materializing as of now on his psyche and his perception of the same. 2. Psychiatric symptoms like anxiety, sadness, mood swings, irritability, confusion etc. 3. Use of alcohol, tobacco, and weed (cannabis). In the light of these issues I would firmly day that he requires a detailed psychiatric assessment. Substance use, possible mental illness, and a recent stressful life event all will require a carefully planned management. Hence my suggestion for you is to please seek a consultation with a psychiatrist near you for comprehensive assessment and further management. I do sincerely believe that his condition can be helped with proper guidance and treatment. Hope this helps you. Best wishes for your health and future.
