Hello Doctor
I am 33 year old male..
I recently got to know I have rheumatoid arthritis. I was very upset and searched a lot on internet and all. After that I opted for a healthy lifestyle and feeding habits to reduce my weight by 17 kg. Now I have totally manage my RA symptoms and report with no medication. But due to my overthinking nature and slightly negative attitude I always have a fear of having or developing some serious illness. When such feeling comes I feel anxious, light bodied and fearful. What to do please suggest.
Secondly sleep is not very sound...seems like most of the times sleep in dreams.

Hi, I appreciate that you reached out with your concern.
It’s understandable that dealing with a chronic illness like rheumatoid arthritis can impact your emotional wellbeing. It is a good thing you have it under controlled or at least working on it via healthy lifestyle. These kind of health issues are usually due to chronic stress.
I suggest you to work on your stress and manage your anxiety. You can do the same by practicing pranayamas daily, meditation, and progressive muscle relaxation. If you feel, they still persists, you should consider therapy like Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).

Hi
What you seem to be having is a typical illness anxiety.
But we will need to have a more detailed evaluation to see for the distress and dysfunction due to the same
And accordingly draw out a management plan
So what I would suggest would be to consult a Psychiatrist (you can take my appointment through Practo)
It is quite treatable …so please consult as soon as possible before the severity increases
Next Steps
Consult a psychiatrist
