Whenever we go through any known or unknown stresses our vulnerabilities get exposed, resulting in many such dysfunctions like negative thoughts, emotions, anxiety, problems with motivation, energy, concentration, enjoyment including problems with sleep, appetite and other physiological changes. Each of them can reinforce each other and resulting in some people getting trapped causing clinical depression and anxiety affecting their life.
Next Steps
It all depends on the severity, frequency, duration and the impact it is having on your life. Most depressions and anxiety can be managed without medical treatment. You can get more aware of your thoughts and emotions, then,  try and challenge them to see if they are rational. Address any underlying stresses calmly while you stay mindful about your thoughts. Get busy with healthy lifestyle, yoga, meditation, exercise, healthy eating, sleep hygiene, keep yourself occupied with enjoyable activities. More importantly learn to let go your negative emotions and get into positive imagery
Health Tips
If symptoms are persistent and / or worsening, please consult a psychiatrist for a comprehensive assessment and appropriate treatment which may include medicine, psychological treatment like cognitive behavior therapy etc

You are experiencing quite a lot of discomfort, as is reflected from your query. Whether or not you have clinical depression, will have to be ruled out by clinical history and examination with or without psychological assessment. I recommend consulting a Psychiatrist for early detection and appropriate management. Good luck.
