Hi, I can understand why this is making you anxious. When we become very alert to our body, even normal sensations like lightheadedness or fatigue can feel scary, and repeatedly checking your BP can make the anxiety worse. Your BP coming down with rest is reassuring, but since you’ve had a few elevated readings, I would still suggest getting it checked by a physician rather than assuming it’s only anxiety. For now, try not to check your BP repeatedly whenever you feel something is wrong. Check it calmly at set times and keep a simple record to discuss with your doctor. From the anxiety side, we can work on breaking the cycle of “I feel something → something must be wrong → I need to check.” The aim is to become more comfortable with body sensations instead of constantly monitoring them. A BP that swings from 140/100 down to 120/80 within 20 minutes of resting, along with evening anxiety and lightheadedness, usually points to a stress related spike rather than ongoing high BP. True hypertension tends to stay raised even at rest.
Next Steps
Track your BP twice daily for a week, morning and evening, before and after rest, and share the readings with a general physician. Cutting caffeine and improving sleep often settles this kind of pattern too.
Health Tips
See a doctor sooner if the readings stay high even after resting, or if you feel breathless or faint.
