Can you control fever ? No .. in the same manner you are having symptoms of depression and that should be treated. Because you cannot control symptoms of the diseases.
A few breathing exercises, relaxing exercises may be beneficial to you. You can look them up online. If you're still not able to control, do visit a Psychiatrist. As a thorough evaluation and diagnosis might be indicated to see if you require anything more
