Hi, I am sorry you are feeling this way. I am sure it’s tough for the patient you are talking about and also as a care giver. Anxiety cough is a cough that gets triggered when certain painful past memories stored in the subconscious get triggered. It’s something that happens automatically so it’s not something that can be controlled. However, we can work on healing the emotional material that is causing the anxiety and once the emotions are released in a safe space the anxiety will cease to exist and so will the anxiety cough. Thanks for taking care of this person you are talking about. It takes a lot to be a care giver. You’re brave! Stay
Next Steps
I can help this person in healing the anxiety cough by work f on the subconscious mind. Love and healing ❤️‍

1.Use Deep Breathing Deep breathing is another effective way to relieve stress and anxiety. It helps you with physical symptoms such as shallow breathing and rapid heart rate, and it also helps with controlling your thoughts. When you practice deep breathing, you're forced to take your thoughts off of whatever is causing you anxiety and to focus on the breathing technique that you are using. 2.Keep A Journal Journaling can be an effective way to deal with your anxiety and to find relief. It helps you to take all of the things that are rolling around in your head and get them out of your head and down on paper. Sometimes seeing the things that we're worried about on paper can help us to see that they're not as big of a deal as we thought they were. It can also help us to find solutions that we have been overlooking. 3.Hang Out With Friends If you're struggling with anxiety, sometimes the last thing that you want to do is go hang out with your friends. Even if it's an activity that you enjoy with people that you like, the thought of it can be stressful. Your brain already feels overwhelmed with things that you feel you need to figure out, and it can seem like a bad use of time to do something fun. 4. Exercise, Find What Works For You : You might be tired of hearing about how great exercise is for your health. But, the reason you hear about it so much is that there's no way around it. Exercise it's good for both your physical body and for your mind.Getting regular exercise has been proven to help you sleep better at night, clear your head, and boost your mood. Hi Have you noticed the cough getting worse when feeling anxious? It is known that anxiety and stress can cause cough and the term for it is psychogenic cough. Psychotherapy is an effective treatment for anxiety cough. It will be good to consult a doctor first to rule out medical causes. Hi, Hypnotherapy will help you. Most of the time the allergic conditions or anxiety cough are associations made deep within subconscious about something. Hypnotherapy relaxes the person deeply and allows those associations to uncover and form new healthy patterns of life.

Get comfortable. You can lie on your back in bed or on the floor with a pillow under your head and knees. ... Breathe in through your nose. Let your belly fill with air. Breathe out through your nose. Place one hand on your belly. ... As you breathe in, feel your belly rise. ... Take three more full, deep breaths.

Hi... There is treatment available for anxiety and if anxiety is the cause of coughing problem than it will also get recovered. But in such cases of psychosomatic symptoms it is always wise to first rule out the physiological cause. So first consult a physician/pulmonologist. If they are of the opinion that this cough does not have a physiological base than it can be attributed to psychological factors.
Next Steps
Consult a Medical Doctor (physician/pulmonologist) first and than a Psychologist for Counselling. CBT along with Lifestyle Changes and Interpersonal Guidance and Counselling is required.
