Anxiety and Depression
My wife is under psychiatrist treatment since two years due Anxiety, Depression and kind of hallucinations.
Since then, she is on Seroxat 20 mg. But after a gap of 1 year, the response mechanism of Seroxat reduces drastically, and then she is prescribed more add on medication like Prexal or Aripal.
Please advise the reason for reduction in the effects of Seroxat (and yes Seroxat in general is very effective).
Also, please confirm whether Seroxat will be used for life long.
Also, Seroxat 20 mg tablets available in India will be same as what we are currently using from Gulf. Can we take same Seroxat 20 mg tablets from here India also?

The reason for the reduction in effect of medicine can be many , like the progression of disorder , taking medicines irregularly, interaction with other medicines , other medical illness , use of substance that reduces efficiency of medicines etc....
Whether any medicine will be required life long depends upon the underlying disorder and response that the patient shows to treatment.
And the medicine that you will be getting in india will have the same composition but the brand name might differ. Here in India u will get same salt but brand will be different.
That will have same effect.
