Antibiotics for dental procedure
Hi!
I am scheduled for a wisdom tooth extraction. I have heard that Amoxicillin and/or Metronidazole is usually the preferred antibiotics for tooth extraction (if needed) or RCT?
I am not comfortable with Amoxicillin. So, what other antibiotics are equally effecfive? I have heard that Cephadroxil is used instead.
My gums are infected as well.

Why are you not comfortable with Amoxicillin, did Amoxicillin teased you while you were in school ? Or did Amoxicillin do anything bad to you like punched u in the face ? Lol
If you got Amoxicillin allergy just ask your doctor for an alternative medication he will take your medical history and check current health status and prescribe you the required antibiotics.
