My mother age is 60 yrs and having diabetes and hypertension. she is having swelling at lower leg with acute pain. mostly pain with swelling around ankle area.

Hello there ,,,, swelling in legs and ankle is a common occourance in people having hypertension and diabetes.....certain medicines(antihypertensive & steroids) for prolong period of time may also lead to leg swelling....however pain along with swelling needs medical attention.
Next Steps
exercises for the legs,and ankles,elevation of legs on pillow while sleeping,walking on even surface may reduce the edema,,,a nutritious and balanced diet should be taken.
