Hello, You’ve nothing to worry about. Tetanus shot should be taken within 48 hours of injury. Also if you’ve had a shot in last 5 years, no need to get the vaccine. Ideally a booster dose is recommended every 10 years. And if there is injury and booster has been more than 5 years ago then a shot is advised.

There is something unusual about TT shots. If someone has several doses of the TT shots, the vaccine actually DOES NOT WORK. We call it ‘hyper-tetanisation’. I don’t know why you ended up having 4 shots of TT in the last two years. All the best. J G S R (online) clinic

It’s good that you are so aware and concerned. But there is no need to worry. You are sufficiently immunised against tetanus.
Next Steps
You don’t need to get a tetanus booster till at least 2034. Get tetanus booster once every 10 years.
Health Tips
Just wash any wound properly with soap and plenty of water.

Taking a tetanus (TT / Td) shot after 26 hours is completely safe and still fully effective. There is no problem at all, and you do not need to worry. The idea that tetanus vaccine must be taken strictly “within 24 hours” is a common myth. In reality: WHO & Government of India guidelines say: Tetanus vaccine can be given at ANY time after the injury as long as it is within 72 hours. Even after 72 hours, it still provides protection, because tetanus has a long incubation period (3–21 days). So taking it at 26 hours is well within the safe window. About taking 4 doses in 2 years This is also not harmful. Excess TT shots do not cause any damage, except sometimes mild redness or pain at the injection site. However, medically you don’t need so many vaccines.
Health Tips
If you have completed a proper 3-dose primary series at any point in life, then: You only need one booster every 10 years, Not after every small injury. But taking extra boosters does not affect your health in any negative way.

Yes, it is safe. Taking a tetanus shot after 26 hours is still effective — the 24-hour rule is not strict. TT can be given even days after an injury if needed. Also, because you have had multiple TT shots in the last 2 years, you already have strong protection. No health issue from taking several doses — the main concern is just unnecessary repetition, not safety.
