Suspecting UTI

2026-04-05 23:46:14
Please look at the report screenshot attached. I suspect if I have UTI, as I suffer from severe lower abdomen pain and cramps. Also I noticed brownish discharge and dark colored urine even when I'm not on my periods.

I suggest you should get your urine routine examination done again with a clean collection of the urine specimen. Based on the report of the second specimen we can ask for urine culture. This specimen could have got contaminated during the collection of the specimen.

By report and symptoms presented by yourself..UTI is a probable diagnosis but not definitive one. We should rule out other causes too. Differential diagnosis 1) UTI 2) PID 3) kidney/urinary tract stones You should drink planty of water For medication - consultation
Next Steps
Do 1) Urine culture and sensitivity test 2) USG whole abdomen +pelvic organ
Health Tips
Don't take antibiotics before you give urine sample for Urine culture and sensitivity test.

Based on your urine report and symptoms, there are mild suggestive findings but not a clear-cut UTI. The report shows nitrites are negative, which usually argues against a strong bacterial UTI. Presence of some bacteria can sometimes be due to contamination or early infection rather than definite UTI. Your symptoms of lower abdominal pain, cramps, brownish discharge, and dark urine are important. The brownish discharge is not explained by UTI alone and suggests a possible gynecological cause such as hormonal spotting, cervical infection, or vaginal infection. Dark urine can also occur due to dehydration. So overall, this looks like either early/mild urinary irritation or contamination, and your symptoms may be more gynecological than urinary.
Next Steps
At this stage, I would advise increasing fluid intake, maintaining proper hygiene, and avoiding holding urine. You can take Tab Paracetamol 500 mg for pain if needed. For urinary burning or discomfort, Syrup/Tab urinary alkalizer (like potassium citrate) can help symptomatically. However, instead of starting antibiotics blindly, it is better to first do a urine culture test to confirm infection. Since you also have brown discharge and cramps, you should get a gynecological evaluation, including pelvic examination and possibly an ultrasound if symptoms persist.
Health Tips
If you develop burning urination, fever, foul-smelling urine, or worsening pain, then treatment for UTI may be required. Good luck!!

Hello, Based on your symptoms and R/E urine report following will be the most important differential diagnosis: 1) Kidney/bladder stones 2) Urinary tract infection Your urine has a small measurable amount of blood which can be present in both above mentioned conditions. Leucocyte esterase is positive on the other hand WBCs are not in significant number in microscopy.
Next Steps
Further investigations are necessary: 1) Urine culture and sensitivity 2) USG Kidney and urinary bladder In the meantime you can start the following medications: 1) Syrup alkasol 10 ml mix with 1 glass of water and drink thrice daily 2) tab Hyoscimax for pain as and when needed 3) Drink plenty of water
Health Tips
Do not take any antibiotics before submitting urine sample for culture sensitivity
