Hey
I hear you. It sounds like your mind has become stuck in work mode, even when you’re off the clock. Your brain is constantly replaying chats, keeping you in a state of tension, making it hard to relax, sleep, or focus on anything else. This is work stress overload, and it’s affecting your mental health.
Here’s what you can do to break this cycle:
1. Create a Mental “Clock-Out” Ritual
• After work, do something completely unrelated (exercise, music, reading). This tells your brain: Work is over.
• Physically disconnect—turn off notifications, log out from all work-related apps.
2. Clear Your Mind Before Sleep
• Write down work thoughts before bed. Your brain will stop feeling like it has to “hold onto” them.
• Try progressive muscle relaxation—tense and relax each part of your body to shift focus from thoughts to physical sensations.
3. Limit Work Intrusion
• If thoughts pop up, mentally say, “Not now, I’ll think about it tomorrow.” Repeatedly doing this teaches your brain to set boundaries.
• Engage in mindful activities (deep breathing, meditation) to pull yourself back to the present.
4. Address the Suicidal Thoughts
• These thoughts are a sign of extreme stress, not who you truly are. You need support, not isolation.
• Please reach out to a therapist or crisis helpline—you do not have to deal with this alone.
• If it gets overwhelming, talk to someone you trust immediately.
5. Consider Work Adjustments
• If possible, see if you can adjust your workload or take short mental breaks during work.
• If this job is severely affecting your mental health, it might be time to explore other options for the sake of your well-being.
Right now, your brain is overloaded and needs a reset. You are not broken—your mind is just exhausted. The fact that you recognize this means you can take steps to regain control. You are not alone in this.
