Pelvic floor surgery chronic tension

2026-08-31 20:22:37
My muscles & spinchter aren't relaxing. & causing incomplete evacuation & cramps. I've undergone almost 4 anal surgeries. I follow every advise by doc. Still there's pain. I've been taking laxatives daily for 2 years. Cremaffin plus causes diarrhea daily. All night it causes stomach cramps & I end up not sleeping well. I recently realized, I had the habit of half squatting while peeing. Like bending a little & standing. Since 7 years I have never sat down to pee. To avoid UTI. Could that have caused muscle disorientation & tension leading to chronic pain? If yes, will it not become like before? please guide how to relax again like it used to be 7 years ago. Please🙏 😭 I've been hopelessly undergoing surgeries. Again doc has told surgery. I might die if I keep undergoing surgeries so often. I have other surgeries to undergo for other issues too. It got delayed as I've been undergoing this surgery repeatedly. lost too much weight & weakness coz of pain & surgeries.

The habit of partially squatting while urinating is unlikely to be the main cause of your current symptoms. After multiple surgeries, the pelvic floor muscles can sometimes remain tight or have difficulty relaxing properly. Your symptoms are complex, so they should be assessed rather than assuming that your urination posture caused the problem.
Next Steps
Please discuss your ongoing symptoms, weight loss and weakness with your treating colorectal surgeon/physician before considering another surgery. A pelvic-floor physiotherapist can assess muscle relaxation, breathing and toileting mechanics and, if appropriate, start a gradual relaxation-focused rehabilitation program. You can also connect with me for an online physiotherapy consultation for an initial assessment and guidance.
Health Tips
Avoid forceful straining during bowel movements and avoid repeatedly trying to “push” the pelvic floor open. Practice relaxed diaphragmatic breathing and give yourself enough time in the bathroom without rushing. Since Cremaffin Plus is causing frequent diarrhoea and cramps, discuss the dose or an alternative with your treating doctor rather than changing it yourself.

Your symptoms are complex, especially with multiple surgeries, chronic pain, incomplete evacuation and significant weight loss. The half-squatting habit alone is unlikely to be the sole cause; pelvic-floor muscle overactivity/poor coordination may contribute.
Next Steps
Pelvic-floor physiotherapy can help with muscle relaxation, breathing, bowel coordination and retraining, but given your history, this should be done only after assessment by a colorectal/pelvic-floor specialist. Please also review the long-term laxative use with your doctor rather than stopping it suddenly.
Health Tips
A personalised pelvic-floor assessment would be the right next step to understand why the muscles are not relaxing and whether further surgery is truly neces

your symptoms may be related to an overactive /tight pelvic floor and difficulty coordinating relaxation during bowel evacuation .habitual hovering or half squatting while urinating may contribute to unnecessary pelvic floor muscle activation ,but it is unlikely to be the only causes of your chronic symptom bowel symptom also need to be cosidered .
Next Steps
it requires identifying the underlying cause and retraining the pelvic floor gradually .please dont keep undergoing repeated procedures without discussing repeated procedures without discussing the persistent symptoms and pelvic floor dysfunction with your colorectal specialist
Health Tips
