Protruding teeth means Ur teeth are placed more front side than normal. Yes it can be definately solved by metallic braces. To connect an overjet Ur upper jaw must have sufficient space to take ur teeth back towards the normal placement,if not it must be created by removing 1 or more teeth on each side. Mechanical tension or forces just pulls the teeth to come back to its natural and normal place. The treatment tenure depends upon severity of the problem,bone quality etc
