If your hemoglobin levels are more than 10 you do not need iron supplements you will need calcium supplements till you continue to breastfeed

You need to continue iron for 6 months post partum depending upon your hb levels and diet and deficiencies if any. Start taking them post delivery You will need to replenish your stores as iron and calcium gets utilised for breastfeeding also

Leg cramps during breastfeeding often point to low calcium or magnesium, especially once supplements are stopped. Breastfeeding raises your iron and calcium needs well above pregnancy levels, so even with minimal blood loss at delivery, restarting both is usually worth doing.
Next Steps
Ask your doctor for an iron option that's gentler on digestion, and pair it with more fibre and fluids to ease the constipation. How long you continue both while breastfeeding varies, so confirm the duration with your gynaecologist.
Health Tips
See a doctor soon if the cramps are frequent, severe, or come with tingling or weakness in your hands or feet.
