Weâll be exploring a take on overthinking, understand why we then start thinking of more examples of it, explore 4 ways to deal with it & then an exercise!â£
Self Awareness - In these moments, take a deep breath, step back, and look at the situation and how youâre responding.
Stop trying to be perfect - Our lives will never be perfect because perfection doesnât exist. Strive for progress every day.
You can not control everything - When we try and control nothing! Especially our minds.
Put your life into perspective - When you get into overthinking, ask yourself, âWil this matter in 5 years, or even 5 weeks?â
The 5â10 Min Dump
Next time youâre overthinking something, donât resist it, but instead try this exercise:
Set a timer for 5â10 mins
Allow yourself time to think, worry and analyse the situation
Write down all of those thoughts as youâre thinking about it
Once the timer is up, throw that piece of paper in the bin, it is now in the past.
Youâve worked through it, and now you can focus on the present
