Distraction is a way to divert your attention away from panic sensations. intense exercise, paced breathing, and progressive muscle relaxation , we can intervene in the panic attack cycle.
3)Follow 5-4-3-2-1 method
The 5-4-3-2-1 method is a type of grounding technique and a type of mindfulness. Look at 5 separate objects. Listen for 4 distinct sounds. Touch 3 objects. Identify 2 different smells. Name 1 thing you can taste.
4)Remember the 3 A's
The next time you have a panic attack, remember the three Aâs: acknowledge, accept, and alternative response. This will help change the way you react to symptoms, help you get through panic attacks.
5)Work with Your Body
Identify, and relax, the parts of your body that get most tense during a panic attack. This typically involves first tensing, and then relaxing, the muscles of your body. You can start at your toes and work your way up.
