Hi,
Favor foods that are cooling, easy to digest, and Pitta-pacifying:
Grains: White rice, oats, wheat, barley.
Vegetables: Bottle gourd (lauki), pumpkin, cucumber, bitter gourd, zucchini, leafy greens (spinach, fenugreek).
Fruits: Melons, pears, ripe papaya, sweet apples, pomegranate.
Legumes: Mung beans and lentils (avoid red lentils and heavy dals).
Dairy: Fresh milk (boiled and cooled to room temperature), ghee (clarified butter), paneer (homemade cottage cheese). Avoid aged cheeses and yogurt.
Fats: Prefer ghee and small amounts of coconut oil.
Best Protein Choices:
Mung beans (split or whole, well-cooked), soft paneer, tofu (occasionally), and fresh white fish if non-vegetarian.
Avoid: Red meat, eggs, lentils that are difficult to digest, nuts in excess.
Spices & Herbs:
Cooling: Coriander, fennel, turmeric, fresh mint.
Avoid excessive black pepper, red chili, mustard.
Limit or Avoid:
Spicy, oily, fried foods, processed and fermented foods, sour and acidic fruits, caffeine, and alcohol.
Hydration:
Drink room temperature or slightly cool water, fresh coconut water, and herbal teas like chamomile, coriander, or mint.
Lifestyle & Additional Tips
Eat regular meals at consistent times.
Do gentle, mindful exercise (walking or yoga); avoid heavy gymming until strength improves.
Manage stress, as it worsens both Agni and Pittaâmeditation and breathing exercises (pranayama) can help.
Get enough sleep, and try to sleep before 11pm.
These food and remedy choices, based on Ayurveda, can help balance high Pitta, improve digestive capacity, support bowel regularity, and help recover tissue strength. Consistency and personalized tweaks (by a practitioner) are key for sustainable results
Next Steps
If constipation is persistent, headaches and acne are severe, or your nutritional status (especially muscle mass) keeps declining, consult an experienced Ayurvedic physician for a personalized assessment and deeper therapy (possibly including Panchakarma, if needed).
