2 days back after waking up for sometime I observed I had pain at right side of back head in right occipital bony area..at one particular spot only.. it looks hard to touch..but feels like minor hard swelling.. pain is like someone has hit me in that area.. now pain is aggravated even with or without head movement.. kindly tell me what can be the reason.. how long will it take to heal.. I am feeling anxious due to it..

As per the description of the location of the bump it is obvious that you can't see it. It is better to let someone see it and make an appropriate diagnosis. The treatment can be started after that.

If non traumatic it could be either a swelling due to a local infection in the scalp area or maybe due to occipital lymph node enlargement again due to an infection in the surrounding region

look for signs like crusting, redness and palpitation but it is best to get it examined in person at a nearby clinic Do consult a GP in person

If it is painful you can use warm compress for both lymph node enlargement and local scalp infection for temporary relief
