Some prodromal symptoms such as body ache weakness can be present before fever sets in however we cannot confidently predict presentation of a fever.Prophylactic medicines cannot be prescribed for fever.If you get fever body temperature above 100°F you can take antipyretic medicines which are available without prescription Example Tab Paracetamol 500mg one can be taken when fever is present maximum of 4 tablets per day with 5 to 6 hours interval .But always remember self medication of even OTC(over the counter drugs )can be harmful It is always in the best interest of health to consult with a doctor for your concerns.
