Hello,
Diabetes and stress are known to be codependent on each other....so our goal should be to limit both of them. While for diabetes there are multiple options available for managing it,i.e, diet, carbohydrate restriction, physical exercise, healthy lifestyle etc,for stress two things matter the most- managing the stress by reducing trigger points and including activities like Yoga, Mindfulness, Meditation to enable yourself to dissociate from regular negative thoughts.
As far the Covid19 situation is concerned, it is completely understandable to feel anxiety.....after all it has brought too much uncertainty in our life....in every aspect of it. One of the ways to deal with this anxiety is to be prepared ....medically,financially and socially. Try to practice the required safety measures, limit contact points with others, if required, take up insurance coverage for COVID19. The more prepared you are, the less uncertain you will feel....thus your stress will reduce.
Try to set small goals for short term basis, see if achieving them is being possible....increase your limits slowly and gradually, keep your body active, try to follow a daily routine and above all, check on your diabetes regularly....just to be safe.
Above all, I would also recrecommend to connect with a counselor or psychologist, may be once in a week or 10 days, to have a fresh perspective on your experiences.....which will help you to deal with your stress better and also to develop healthy coping mechanisms.
Wish you all the best !
Next Steps
I would encourage you to connect with a psychologist or counselor regarding stress management
