Doctor, I've been having anxiety for the past several months. I experience panic attacks almost every day. During these episodes, I have racing thoughts, a fast heartbeat, and chest pain. The chest pain usually happens only when I'm anxious. The symptoms are affecting my daily life and work. I don't drink alcohol, coffee, or tea. I would like to know what is causing these symptoms and what treatment would help me.

Good afternoon Your symptoms may be related to prolonged stress and an overactive nervous system. When the body remains in a constant “fight-or-flight” state, it can lead to panic attacks, chest tightness, rapid heartbeat, racing thoughts, muscle tension, and disturbed breathing. advice: focus on calming the nervous system through diaphragmatic breathing, mindfulness, meditation, gentle yoga, adequate sleep, regular physical activity, and spending time in nature.

However, because these symptoms occur almost daily and are affecting your quality of life, it is essential to consult a physician to rule out any underlying medical condition and seek support from a mental health professional.
