Hi doctor. Apart from 3 root canal treatments in 2019 I've got done one titanium implant too. Sometimes I feel something acidic around ent part and feels lethargic. One of my cataract operation also got done last yr in the same side eye. it's a salty feel around tht eye too. My question is-, am I getting allergy due to tht titanium implant? As am highly sensitive to metals and hv sking allergies problem too. If yes, what can be done now?? Thank you 🙏

Hie.. did you get the caps for root canal treated tooth? usually people doesn’t get allergic to titanium easily. Get the allergic test done if u feel it’s after that. Sometimes, it could be due to the metal used for the capping?? It gets leached out..
Next Steps
Ask your dentist for the material used for capping and also which implant system they have used

Hi, Thank you for your query. Hypersensitivity to Metal instruments and materials is not as common as we think. A thorough examination will be required to assess the severity of the metal allergy, if this seems to be the same. There are some allergen tests also that can be done to determine the status with reasonable accuracy. We honestly dont think the titanium implant and the metallic taste is related. However, with the correct diagnostics and the recent clinical examination details we can surely conclude on this. Alternatively, visit Oraliah Dental Clinics, Sahakar Nagar, Bangalore for a more comprehensive check and consult
Next Steps
Ask for a sensitivity test or Allergy Test. Kindly get details from your dentist or implantologist on the quality of implant used.
