Alcohol addiction
My relative is alcohol addicted. Despite several attempts at rehabilitation center no improvement has been seen. His counselor suggested to contact Psychiatrist. Not sure how to select suitable/correct psychiatrist?

So many medications are available these daysl for alcoholism. Without medication if person dependent on alcohol try to leave it all of sudden he can have various withdrawl effects which are usually painful for patient. Start his treatment along with relapse prevention session later to keep him abstinent in future. If he is not motivated enough then motivational enhancement therapy also can be tried. Hope it will work and good luck.
