Olanzapine and alcohol
My friend is having an office party and it means alcohol too . Since her boss will also be there she can't skip having alcohol , but she is undergoing anxiety treatment and is taking olanzapine ( zyprexa) . Is it safe for her to consume alcohol if she takes a gap of 24 hours after the medicine intake ?? Please suggest.

Hi, Mixing psychiatric medication or skipping it and consuming alcohol could be devastating. It may lead to resurgence of symptoms that may not respond to ongoing treatment. Better if she avoids drinks on pretext of personal or religious reasons.
Next Steps
avoid alcohol
