Alcohol like smell without drinking

Hi, one of my cousion smells like alchohol, however his breath is without any alcohol smell. its his odour. and he claims that he dont drink. I came to know about ketone level in blood that can cause such smell. can anyone tell me any test or checkup that can explain cause of that alcoholic odour??
