1.The only treatment for any gallstone disease is Surgery for removal of gallbladder(Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy)
2. However not all patients with gallbladder stones need surgery. Only those having symptoms in the form of pain abdomen, bloating, dyspepsia, jaundice need to be operated.
3.There are also few conditions where even without symptoms surgery is advised to prevent complications.
4. Few of the indications are large stones >2.5cm, hemolytic anemia, associated with Gallbladder polyps etc
