My child is 5.5 years old now. In last 2 years he was facing ear pain issue with a frequency of once in every 3-4 months.
Last year we had gone to an ENT specialist who said that it is mostly due to Adenoid. Then we consulted one more ENT specialist who suggested to go for surgery to remove adenoid & putting grommet in ears. Please advise.

If your child's symptoms include decreased hearing and recurrent ear pain associated with nose block and mouth breathing then he might be having adenoid hypertrophy with otitis media with effusion. It has to be confirmed by x ray or endoscopy (for adenoid hypertrophy) and tympanometry (for otitis media with effusion) then surgery can be an option. Since your child has problems are only ear pain diagnosis should be confirmed before any surgery
