Did you undergo surgery or did you undergo just physiotherapy,try stretching anterior structures like quads,iliopsoas. Do quads release. The Pain may be because of faulty compensations or overloading.
Progressive quadriceps and hamstring strengthening exercises, followed by knee stability, joint proprioception and functional exercises. Need to work a lot if you are planning to avoid reconstruction.

I would suggest you to do regular strengthening exercises for the muscles around the knee joint...Bez as the ligament is torn..it is unable to stabilize your joint..so Ur muscles hv to work double...for movement and for stability..
