Acidity Problem
I am having frequent acidity problem. Due to that suffering from heart burns and reflux and cough in throat, especially at bed time or when lay down. It goes off as soon as I take antacids like Eno or Gelusil,Diazene tab or syrup. PPI like omeprazole, pentaprozole etc are also gives releif. My question is how long it is safe to take PPIs or Antacids ? I am taking these from last 3 years for almost 2 times in a week. Recently I am diagnosed with high fasing blood sugar level at 160. Is it side effect of these PPIs or Antacids? What could be an alternative for acidity?

You should not take PPIs for very long. They may cause interstitial nephritis in long run. What i would suggest is you should take PPis with domperidom combination for 2 weeks, everyday. Along with that, practice habits that avoid reflux, like cease smoking/tobacco/alcohol/ketchups/pepper/low pH foods. If at the end of 2 weeks you don't find any significant relief,  we mobe to the nest step i.e. investigations.  We might require an LFT, an USG and UGI endoscopy.
