Hi vit D is very important for our health and immunity. Its definitely good idea to eat vit d rich diet. But before taking supplements you must check your serum vit d levels .

Before you take vitamin d, it would be beneficial for you to get a check up done to see how much are your Vit.D levels.
Your doctor can recommend the specific tablet, dosage and duration accordingly.
It might cause toxicity if taken in excess.
So it's better to get levels tested first and then take them accordingly.
