After unprotected sex, especially if your partner had multiple sexual contacts, proper STD screening is very important even if you have no symptoms. Tests for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B/C and other infections should be done at the correct window period. Avoid panic, but do not ignore it.
For now, avoid further unprotected contact. If you notice discharge, pain, ulcers or fever, seek care immediately. You may visit our clinic for confidential counselling, screening guidance and personalised care.

Answer by Dr. Jitesh Bhatt, MD
Dear Patient,
First of all, please stay calm. Anxiety will not help, but timely action will. You did the right thing by seeking guidance early.
Since you had unprotected intercourse with ejaculation inside, and your partner has had multiple unprotected contacts, there is a real risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV. But remember — risk does not mean infection.
What You Should Do Now:
1️⃣ If intercourse happened within the last 72 hours
You must immediately visit a hospital or ART centre and ask about PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) for HIV/AIDS.
PEP is a 28-day emergency medicine that can significantly reduce HIV risk if started within 72 hours.
If more than 72 hours have passed, PEP will not work.
---
2️⃣ Get Tested (Even If You Have No Symptoms)
Do the following tests:
HIV 4th generation test (at 28 days and repeat at 3 months)
VDRL (for syphilis)
HBsAg (for Hepatitis B)
Anti-HCV (for Hepatitis C)
Urine test for gonorrhea & chlamydia
Even if the first HIV test is negative, repeat testing is very important because of the window period.
---
3️⃣ Watch for Symptoms (but don’t depend on them)
Early HIV symptoms (if they occur) may include:
Fever
Sore throat
Body pain
Rash
Swollen lymph nodes
But many people have no symptoms at all.
---
4️⃣ Avoid Further Risk
Do not have unprotected sex.
Use condoms strictly.
Do not panic or overthink.
---
5️⃣ Pregnancy Risk
Since sperm was released inside, pregnancy is also possible.
If within 72 hours, emergency contraception can be considered.
---
Important Reassurance
Even if your partner had multiple partners, it does NOT automatically mean he has HIV. Many exposures do not result in infection. Modern testing is very accurate.
Right now, your priority is: ✔ Testing
✔ Possible PEP (if within 72 hrs)
✔ Safe practices
If you tell me how many hours/days ago this happened, I can guide you more specifically.
Take care. Stay strong. Early action is powerful.
Do all the std test and routine urine examination and culture +heigh vaginal swab test including viral profile and repeat after 90 days again specially HIV
