Hi Doctor, what is the best way to increase hdl and decrease Idl cholesterol as my report came abnormal.. I have also less platelet count which is 117.
My vitamin d & b12 level also came low so i started taking supplementary tablets for both. So is this all parameters related to each other? I don't have any past disease record. Will you please let me know what should i do for cholesterol and platelets issue to make it normal? Attaching reports here for your analysis

"Aapke reports mein cholesterol imbalance (Dyslipidemia), low platelets (Thrombocytopenia), aur Vitamin deficiencies (D/B12) ka milna aaj kal ke lifestyle mein kafi common hai. Inka aapas mein koi direct link nahi hai, lekin ye sab ek Nutritional Deficiency aur 'Sedentary Lifestyle' ki taraf ishara karte hain. 27 saal ki umar mein in parameters ko control karna zaroori hai taaki aage chalkar 'Metabolic Syndrome' ya dil ki bimariyan na hon."
Next Steps
Dietary Changes: LDL ghatane ke liye fried food aur 'Saturated Fats' band karein. HDL badhane ke liye Omega-3 rich foods (Walnuts, Flaxseeds, Fish) aur fiber wali chizen zyada khayein.
Exercise: Rozana 30-45 minute ki cardio exercise (jaisa tune morning walk wale case mein bataya tha) HDL badhane ka sabse best tarika hai.

As per your concern i need more information like do you any symptoms?
If not then it is just abnormal parameters of body which can be correct by basic lifestyle changes
1.Cholesterol
As i see in that report cholesterol ranges are deranged which can be corrected by
1.Proper diet plan and which high fibres and protein like nuts ,vegetables, fish etc stop eating junk
2 .Do exercises regularly which increases metabolism in your body ,helps in fat loss and stay active whole day if overweight reduces the weight and stay fit
Avoid smoking and alcohol
Now vit D and B12 deficiency is seen…life style is the first line and proper diet also and As you’re taking supplements they can be improved and if any symptoms are there you have to correct them through injections first and later tablets…platelets count is also low related to B12 deficiency and it will become normal if B12 is corrected …if not consult a physician
Follow these and test again after 3 weeks and tell me the result.
Next Steps
Improve youre life style

Reports dekh ke simple bata deta hoon — aapka total cholesterol aur triglycerides theek hain, lekin LDL thoda high hai (131) aur HDL kaafi low hai (23), jo main concern hai. Ratio bhi thoda high aa raha hai, iska matlab long term me heart risk badh sakta hai agar lifestyle same raha.
Vitamin B12 (167) aur Vitamin D (13.7) dono clearly low hain, ye weakness, fatigue aur kabhi kabhi platelets par bhi indirect effect daal sakte hain. Platelet count 117 mild low hai, itna dangerous nahi hota, lekin ignore bhi nahi karna chahiye.
Ye sab cheezein generally ek dusre se directly linked nahi hoti, lekin poor diet, sedentary lifestyle aur deficiencies ek saath mil ke aisa pattern de dete hain.
Ab kya karna hai — sabse pehle lifestyle pe kaam karo:
roz 30–40 min brisk walk ya exercise, weight control, fried/junk kam karo, smoking/alcohol avoid karo agar hai. Diet me nuts (badam, akhrot), seeds, fish (agar lete ho), olive oil type healthy fats add karo — ye HDL badhane me help karega.
B12 ke liye supplements continue karo (oral ya injection depending on level), aur Vitamin D ke liye weekly 60000 IU 6–8 weeks + sunlight exposure.
Platelets ke liye koi specific medicine usually nahi lagti jab tak bahut low na ho — 1–2 hafte baad CBC repeat kara lo, aksar khud normal ho jata hai, specially agar recent infection ya deficiency ho.
Abhi ke numbers pe generally medicines (cholesterol wali) ki immediate need nahi hoti agar aur risk factors nahi hain, pehle 2–3 mahine lifestyle + supplements try karo, phir repeat lipid profile karna.
Agar family history strong hai ya diabetes/thyroid issue hai to doctor ko dikha ke further plan banana better rahega.
Your reports show three main things:
1. HDL (good cholesterol) is quite low and LDL (bad) is slightly high
2. Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D are deficient
3. Platelet count is mildly low (117k)
The low HDL is the most important issue here.
This is usually lifestyle-related and reversible.
Your LDL is not very high, so medicines are not needed at this stage.
Low B12 can contribute to low platelets, so both are likely connected. Vitamin D deficiency is also common and can indirectly affect metabolism and overall health.
Overall, this is not a serious condition right now, but it does need correction to prevent future problems.
Next Steps
Start regular exercise: at least 30–40 minutes brisk walking or gym daily
• Improve diet:
– Add nuts (almonds, walnuts), seeds (flaxseed), fruits, green vegetables
– Reduce fried food, junk food, excess ghee/butter
• Take Vitamin D3: 60,000 IU once weekly for 8 weeks, then monthly
• Take Vitamin B12 supplements (oral or injections as advised)
• Get sunlight exposure daily (15–20 minutes)
• Repeat tests after 8–12 weeks: Lipid profile, CBC (platelets), B12, Vitamin D
No cholesterol medicines are required at present if lifestyle is corrected.
Health Tips
• HDL increases mainly with exercise, not medicines
• Do not ignore low B12, it can affect nerves and blood counts
• Platelet count is not dangerously low, but monitor it
• Seek medical review if you notice easy bruising, bleeding, or if platelets drop further
With consistent lifestyle changes, these values can improve significantly.
Sedentary lifestyles is the main role in your reports.cholesterol is borderline high ,you dont need medication .there is no link between them like b12,d3 and cholesterol its separate not linked.so for b12 and d3 you need to take supplements and for cholesterol you need only lifestyle modifications and avoid oily street food, junk food .eat more fibrous diet .after this your hdl is automatically increased .
For cholesterol most important: lifestyle
Exercise: at least 30–45 min brisk walking daily
Diet: increase: nuts (almonds, walnuts), seeds, fruits, vegetables
Use healthy fats (olive oil, groundnut oil)
Reduce: fried food, bakery items, junk food, red meat
Weight control
These steps will increase HDL and reduce LDL naturally
Partially yes:
B12 deficiency can contribute to low platelets
Lipid abnormalities are not directly related to platelets or vitamin levels
Next Steps
For Vitamin D & B12 Continue supplements as started
Recheck after 8–12 weeks.
For platelet count,Repeat CBC after 2–3 weeks
If still low, evaluate further (peripheral smear, B12 response,Seek urgent care if:gum bleeding, easy bruising
