Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician.
Your case has been allotted to me.
I understand your concern. Having abdominal pain for several weeks with occasional vomiting, despite normal reports and only mild fatty liver, usually points toward gastritis (acid-related irritation), indigestion, or sometimes intestinal spasm. Fatty liver can also cause a dull ache or fullness in the upper abdomen, but it rarely causes sharp or persistent pain.
1. Advices
Eat small, frequent meals and avoid long gaps between eating.
Strictly avoid fried, oily food, tea, coffee, spicy food, and carbonated drinks.
Do not lie down immediately after meals; take a short walk instead.
2. What to Monitor
Whether pain increases after food or on an empty stomach.
Any change in stool pattern, acidity, or bloating.
3. Management
You can start the following for 10â14 days:
Pantoprazole 40 mg once daily, 30 minutes before breakfast.
Domperidone 10 mg twice daily before meals (for nausea or vomiting).
Syrup Digene or similar antacid after meals if discomfort persists.
If pain remains even after 10 days, a stool test, upper endoscopy, or H. pylori test may be advised to rule out infection or peptic ulcer.
For mild fatty liver, regular exercise (30â40 minutes brisk walk daily) and avoiding alcohol or sugary drinks are essential for recovery.
4. When to Consult a Doctor Immediately
If vomiting becomes frequent or blood appears in stool/vomit.
If pain radiates to the back or right shoulder.
If you develop unexplained weight loss or severe fatigue.
Every patientâs situation is unique. Based on your description, this seems functional and fully treatable with lifestyle and acid control medicines.
