Tight stool is a common reaction to solid foods.Offer 1 to 2 ounces of water daily.Feed pureed "P" fruits like prunes or pears.Limit constipating foods like bananas and rice cereal.Gently massage the tummy to help pass stool.
Natural foods to relieve constipation are sugar, honey, fruits and fruit juices. Include them in the diet and continue breast feeding. If necessary consult a Paediatrician.
It is quite common for babies to have harder stools after starting solids. Continue breastfeeding/formula feeds as usual and offer a few sips of water with meals.
You can include fiber-rich foods such as papaya, pear, prunes, peach, chikoo, oats, and vegetable purees. Avoid excessive rice cereal, banana, biscuits, and processed foods if stools are hard.
First thing you need to understand after solid food starting there is definitely constipation
Treatment:
Give more water after feeds
Add more fibre Rich foods
