5th base Metatarsal fracture
Hi, It's been 8 weeks that I had the 5th base metatarsal fracture due to ankle twist while playing Badminton. I got an Xray done on last Friday which still shows the crack. For 2 days I tried to walk in normal footwear and not in the air cast boot. Due to this my leg is paining a lot and also little swelling reappeared. I have attached the photo of latest Xray. How should I proceed further? Is there any other way rather than doing a surgery?

Displaced avulsion fracture of peroneus brevis. No other option than screw fixation (ORIF) especially when this is 8week old now. You don't not have much time to decide.
