2nd trimester abortion of pregnancy
I Want to know about the available options for me to terminate this pregnancy. I'm about 19 weeks, 2 days pregnant. My periods were irregular so i didn't gave needed attention when i missed my periods for last few months. Today reports of my ultrasound showed me that I'm pregnant. I don't want any baby for now. I need to know about what are the side effects of abortion by medications at this stage and also side effects of surgical abortion at this stage. Which method is more reliable and will not cause any problems in my nearest future while trying to conceive or in getting pregnant.

Please appreciate that second trimester MTPs are always fraught with danger. That's why the MTP Act wants that a second trimester MTP should be done with the concurrence of two Doctors. There has to be a reason for seeking MTP. Your reason is not adequate. If you must have a second trimester MTP please go to a good Centre with facility for Surgery and to deal with complications. Not to be taken lightly.
