Hope you are doing well
From what I understand from your symptoms, you have features suggestive of dyspepsia. Differential diagnosis is made based on your history of presenting illness, past medical history family history, history of treatment taken, history of alcohol consumption, smoking, sexual exposure and examination findings
Her is a list of differential diagnosis for dyspepsia
Differential diagnosis of dyspepsia
Peptic ulcer disease
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
Gastric or esophageal cancer
Infiltrative diseases of the stomach (eg, Crohn disease, sarcoidosis)
Metabolic disturbances (hypercalcemia, hyperkalemia)
Ischemic bowel disease, celiac artery compression syndrome, superior mesenteric artery syndrome
Systemic disorders (diabetes mellitus, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, connective tissue disease)
Intestinal parasites (Giardia, Strongyloides)
Abdominal cancer, especially pancreatic cancer
Now what you have could be anything
Evidence based medical practice is based on scientific objective demonstration of fndings, hence the basic investigation requested
If you could visit some of the clinics in USA, Australia, Europe to a gastroenterologist with dyspepsia, this is the protocol followed.
Hence the same adviced by most of superspecialists.
As I am writing this reply I complete an endoscopy for a 32 year old gentleman being treated as gastric, which turned out to be gastric ulcer of body of stomach, which masquerades as benign dyspepsia, but he lost precious time taking gas medications. Similarly last week a lactating mother of 1 yr old child diagnosed with colon cancer on evaluation, who was again not suspected. Innumerable cases of thyroid, liver diseases, inflammatory bowel disease picked up on evaluation only of innocuous symptoms, with a sharp eye.
I am a Professor of gastroenterology, who do a lot of academic training, attend and deliver lectures at conferences, during those periods the clinic is closed. We do respond on our email, and never has any reports not sent in less than three days time, unless they are special referral tests.
Regarding unparliamentary language, I do not want to comment
Thanks for the feedback any way
