Visited Ms. Cassandra Sundaraja (Clinical Psychologist) For Anxiety Disorder Counselling
Happy with: Explanation of the health issueDoctor friendlinessTreatment satisfaction
I had been suffering from depression for over 2 years before I met Ms. Cassandra . I had a nervous breakdown which prompted me to seek a therapist. I was in therapy for little over a year and it is hard to describe the experience in this short review , so instead I have listed out the reasons I think Ms. Cassandra is a great therapist:
1. The relationship : Ms. Cassandra worked to inculcate trust and openness in our patient-therapist. When you have anxiety you are always afraid that people evaluating you and judging you, and that makes you closed up and reticent and afraid to share. So when Ms. Cassandra told me that I won't be judged and that she won't evaluate my actions as good or bad, it meant a lot to me and made me open up to her. She also has a lot of patience, she never pushed me to share, but let me open up at a pace I was comfortable with.
2. A map, not a textbook : As we explored my psyche, Ms. Cassandra never outright diagnosed my mental afflictions. Instead she gently guided me and helped me come to my own conclusions about what was making me behave or think the way I did. In this way I came to have a greater understanding of myself.
3. Teach a man how to fish : The most effective part of my therapy was that Ms. Cassandra did not merely analyze and counsel me, but also taught me how to analyze and counsel myself. Depression and anxiety aren't things that can be "cured". They are like chronic afflictions. You can subdue them for long periods of time, but then they will suddenly tear through your mind without warning, destroying all the progress you made before. Being able to analyze and counsel myself, the ability to find out what was effecting me and how to fix it has saved my life many times.
4. Acceptance and Happiness : Ms. Cassandra always stressed on acceptance. Many times in life we end up in a situation where we are not happy and there is no way out. This can be taking a job you don't like or studying for a degree you don't want because you have to. And in such cases, even though we haven't got what we wanted, we should refuse to be miserable. We should accept it, not as a good situation or a bad situation but just as it is. By accepting I do not mean that we don't try to change our situation, just that we refuse to let it cloud our life. Because once we accept where we are and refuse to be miserable , our mind becomes free - free to solve our problem, free to explore the other parts of our life and free to be happy. And this was the most important thing that I learned in my year in therapy.

I had a OCPD issue with me since my childhood and till the age of 36 years now. I had to face lot of adjust-mental issues in family, with friends and also with office colleagues.
I got a real help when I met Mr. Alex and I came out of this complex issue in my life. I started interactive sessions with Alex from April 2017 and ended in December 2017. In these 8 months duration I have attended 13 sessions with Alex. He interacted with me by taking the history of my life from childhood to till date. He made me to understand each situation of my life by doing mock sessions with him. This was a real real help for me to imagine, to understand people and situations in my past life and also to get to know how to deal with such situations in present and future life.
I followed each and every step told by him in each session and use to share the details of my experience in each session. He use to give lot of tips to follow in every session. I learnt to give value for time.
Off course it is the duty of the client to follow and practice the tips given by him.
I am more than happy and feeling very proud more meaningful about my life after attending the sessions with Alex
Thank you Alex for your tips and support changing my life towards positive.

Happy with: Doctor friendlinessTreatment satisfactionExplanation of the health issue
I was referred to Cassandra by my psychiatrist for CBT. I was initially skeptical as CBT is not known to be widely practiced. However, after a few sessions now, I feel comfortable and motivated to look after myself and observe things.
Cassandra is warm and quite patient. She takes notes and it helps when she remembers things from the previous sessions. That makes me feel that she actually listens and understands. I haven't had any difficulties in opening up to her.In the last few weeks. I have actually made an effort in being aware of myself and I feel that the therapy is responsible for it.
Will I recommend her ? YES, I will.
