Dear Ma’am, We recognize you as our patient who visited us about 10 days back for pigmentation and melasma concern. You were prescribed medications for the same which were suppose to be applied for about 3 to 4 weeks. You called us after 3 days of your visit complaining about irritation and dryness caused by the product for which you were advised to stop it for couple of days and apply moisturizer. But you were willing to return the product. As advised at that point of time also that pharmacy does not belong to clinic and clinic has no say in returning of product. Still we recommended you to contact pharmacy and tried helping you to the best as we can. Hydroquinone based creams are FDA approved and are recommended to apply use as prescribed by your dermatologist. At times they can cause dryness and hence we advice to use them in pea sized amount after mixing with moisturiser as you were also prescribed. Hydroquinone is the molecule that is generally recommended by the dermatologist in case of concerns like melasma, pigmentation, freckles, and dark spots as they help in reducing pigmentation. There are no clinical evidences that state that hydroquinone can cause any severe damage or side effect to the human skin. Very minor side effects like dryness or redness can happen if used in more than prescribed quantity or for prolonged time period without consulting expert dermatologist. The decisions of choosing the right researched medication by a doctor is sometimes tough in every case when it pinches the pocket, but the future in most cases holds the promise of the reducing the problem and improving the condition. Having said that the pharmacy does not belong to Clinic hence we do not have a say in their processes. As per their policy any product which is opened and used cannot be returned. Pharmacy guys called and informed us that they will try to speak the pharmaceutical company about it and check if the product can be replaced and we believe same was informed to you as well, as returning the product was your concern and not replacement when we spoke to you initially to help you in resolving the issue. Doctors spend around 15 odd years in our country through many training for their careers to even get a registration certificate, and the training starts during the school itself. An essential part of medical college is also taking oaths to be true and honest with patients by completing several trainings / exams / SR ships in hospitals in the first and second half of schooling. Furthermore, you would be pleased to know that doctor Dadu has a 15+ years of experience in managing patients and harnessing her skill set offering 100+ services in the clinic, which is yes fairly new but compared to an average age of a human being a large part of the doctors life has gone in seeing patients and she willingly promises to deliver more each day.
