Dr. Sumedha is empathetic, very easy to get along with and makes you very comfortable in your space, leta you sit with the feelings you are having. Helps validate them, and then tried to provide her objective analysis. It's a flowing discussion where you discuss the analysis, some things will resonate, others will not, and she uses you as a guide to help you get to the right questions and explore deeper. She explained what anxiety does to the body and suggested simple child friendly steps we could practice at home balloon breathing in for 4 out for 6 5 4 3 2 1 grounding a 30 minute study and 5 minute break rhythm short timed mock papers with a timer positive self talk cards I can try the next one an exam day routine breathe read paper fully start with 3 easiest questions a worry parking notebook before bed and an earlier sleep routine no screens 1 hour before. She also coached us as parents to praise effort and process not just marks.
Within a few weeks we saw real changes calmer nights before tests steady writing speed and most importantly he says I can handle it. His confidence is back and the scores are reflecting it.
