The wait time was long because the doctor had not arrived (more than 45 mins) and nobody present at the clinic either informed/updated me on this nor did anyone even bother to apologise for the inconvenience, at least as a formality. I understand that doctors get called into medical emergencies all the time and that affects their time commitment; my point - just inform about this delay to your patient who is waiting so patiently (pun intended) for you.
