Dr. Archana Nimbalkar

I underwent cataract surgery (for both eyes) by Dr. Archana Nimbalkar in August 2022. I had very high number, (-) 9.5 for both eyes, with cylindrical no. of 2.5 in one eye. Due to my age (52 years) I also had reading glasses with (+) 2.5 number. After consultation with Dr. Archana and requisites tests, I decided to go for multifocal implants. I was not expecting the numbers to go away completely. But thanks to the excellent surgical skills of Dr. Archana, now I am not required to wear any glasses either for far-sight or for reading. Even the doctor was happily surprised with the result. I believe this was result of the excellent surgical skills of Dr. Archana, with includes the correct measurements, the point and angle of incision and the actual implanting of the lenses. Apart from her excellent surgical skills, what I liked about Dr. Archana is that she explains the ‘cons’ of any procedure very clearly so that the patient can take informed decision. She had categorically explained to me the downside of the multifocal implants viz. some increase is glare at night time etc. Also, her advice is never governed by the cost of the procedure or the lenses. She recommended the lenses which were most suitable to me and not the most expensive ones. The post-op care was also exceptional. The personal attention she gave during the follow-up was very gratifying. Even for other matters, I always find her advice to be absolutely straight-forward and very honest. So, if you need a no-nonsense, honest-to-God advice on any ophthalmic issues, I strongly recommend her. My faith in her has paid-off big time for me and I am sure all her patients feel the same.

My son was diagnosed with diplopia due to GBS in May 2021 and we were advised to have ophthalmic consultation. From the time we first met Dr. Archana Nimbalkar, we got a real positive vibe due to her pleasant and caring personality. On day one only Dr. Archana identified the exact cause and guided us for the most appropriate palliative treatment of eye patching. During the entire course of more than one and a half year’s treatment, she was trying to avoid the surgical intervention. Our son has recovered entirely now and we are delighted.
