Dr. Anand Deshpande

It gives me sheer pleasure to write about Dr. Anand Deshpande and his team of doctors and staff at the Deshpande Eye Hospital, Pune, where I was recently operated for cataract of both the eyes.

An extremely skilled and experienced eye surgeon, who performed the surgeries with the fine dexterity and superb control of an ace maestro playing his instrument in a symphony orchestra.

I was particularly struck by his very amiable and cheerful, informal disposition, coupled with his sheer ability to strike instantaneous rapport with his patients.

The hospital itself is very clean and equipped, with state of the art equipment.

A special mention must be made of the very courteous and efficient team of doctors, technicians and other staff who are adept at putting the patients instantly at ease before the procedures, besides facilitating timely and smooth follow up.

I would very strongly recommend Dr. Anand Deshpande and his team for all your eye related ailments, diagnosis, treatment and surgical procedures.

As suggested by many optalmologists my cataract had a unique complication and was one of most difficult cataract surgeries. I was a little skeptical to go ahead with this procedure since it was a difficult surgery. But Dr. Anand Deshapande was very confident which made made me feel comfortable to go ahead with the surgery. Dr. Deshpande successfully performed the cataract surgeries for both my eyes. ** ** ** ***** *** ** *** **** optamologists with latest machinery and a great team to support him.

I went here for a routine checkup of Retina(Fundus examination). I have a history of retinal surgery and hence I go in for checkups every 6 months. I went to this doctor for the first time.** ** **** ***** ** *** **** **** ****** ***** ********* **** ** * ***** ********** He told me that my retina has a hole and surgery would be needed. He further referred to me another doctor at his clinic only who would tell about the details of my condition and gave me his appointment 5 days later. This doctor was unwilling to talk anything more about his diagnosis saying that he is not a retina specialist but he said that there is definitely something very wrong with my retina and big hole is there which needs a surgery.

I must mention here that I am quite anxious by nature and I rushed to Ophthalmology OPD ** ********* ********** ************* *** **** **** *** *** ** *** *** * ******** ************* ** ** **** ** ******** *** **** ** **** ******* ** ***** **** ** **** *** * ** *** **** *** ********** ** ********* *** **** ** ****** *** ******* ******** **** *** ***** * ************** * ******** **** *** ***** ********* ** *** ** *** ********* ** ************* *** *** ******* *** ****** *** **** ******** I wish nobody else goes through such mental pain as I have from this.

Initially before lasic surgery Dr Anand Deshpande and staff was good, attending every doubt n call, but after the surgery I ws facing some eye irritation, even after 10 days my vision is not clear. I tried to call them on number given to me bt none of dem responded or call back for a problem. Dn I had word wid Dr Anand Deshpande abt the thing n issue I m facing, in Dr words- we dnt entertatin patients on call and hang up the call (I have already visited the clinic 2 days back). Surprisingly Dr Neha(assistant dr in Deshpande eye clinic) only gave her number to me and asked me to call if any issue. I m literally shocked about the behavioral change towards the patients after surgery and before surgery. I personally think we need medical help till our recovery period completed. Extreamly Disappointed 😞

I visited this place for my wife's treatment. I must mention here the excellent patient, care, service and behavior of the staff @ Clinic. They are as passionate as the doctor himself. Though a renowned surgeon visited many countries, places and is an expert in the domain - he is a very down-to-earth person. Connects well with the patient, perfect diagnosis, and explains in detail the treatment plans with varied options. I had to visit multiple times but none of the times I got a feeling that am visiting the busiest clinic of the city (though it actually is), every time we were received well by the staff. We were offered tea, coffee, and water on every visit. Hygiene is just excellent including washrooms. Hi-tech infrastructure where you can witness the surgery on a big screen. The doctor has built a family-like atmosphere in clinic which helps patients get settled well. Overall a must place to visit for anything and everything related to VISION.

Overall the experience with this hospital is plesent.Dr.Deshpande is very open & explains the things to your satisfaction.He has great expertise & skills when operates on eyes. The support staff , assistance are also cooperative.Ms.Trupti Mohite is especially very nice with all patients. I have got my both eyes operated in a week & happy with pre & post operation treatment.

Only i have some issue with my spectacle which is not giving desired results.Its bit expensive compared with similar one at other shopes...

I had cataract (MICS) surgery done by Dr Anand Deshpande. In 1993 I had Radial Keratotomy (RK) surgery with 8 cuts at Hyderabad. It is not easy to do this type of cataract surgery with a RK of so many cuts. It requires great expertise to avoid the cuts of RK. I had no pain whatsoever. He performed surgery with a cut of 1.8mm.

The staff is very friendly and cooperative. Dr is very competent and he explains the procedure very well. I felt very confident. In most cases RK cataract surgery recovery takes longer than normal cataract surgery. Patients get worried but this is normal.

Neat and clean place. Excellent after surgery checkups One can see the surgery live in the waiting room. Most competent Dr. Very happy.

Very professional set up. They knew in advance about my appointment thru Practo. Appt started 10 min late as there were patients whose tests were underway.

Junior Doctor tested and rechecked by Dr Anand. Gave very good counselling.

Very pleasant people.

I would definitely recommend the Dr to those want an eye examination.
