Dr. Darshan N Sonawane

I have had this back pain and shoulder pain from a very long time (I think it might be because of the accident i had back in 2009). My back pain initially started in the right side of my neck and with time gradually moved down to my back just below my shoulder blade. The pain is mostly in the right side. It was bearable earlier however since last year it intensified a lot so last week i finally decided to see a doctor.

I asked around a little bit and looked up in the internet. Found tons of Orthopaedist on Practo. I wanted a good doctor so i had to look at number of votes and feedback received by the listed doctors. And finally zeroed in on Dr Darshan.

Another thing that stands out is the fact that he also responds to reviews, which essentially means he cares for what patients feels about him and his general treatment and his approach in handling patients. Ask yourself how many doctors does that, really!?

So I finally booked my appointment, met him last week and lo! All that was said about him is absolutely true! One of the nicest doctors I have ever interacted with!

He examined my pain area, move, stretch, rotates, pull, tab etc etc very thoroughly and gave me the prescription (some medicines and an x-ray). I am on medication currently and the pain has subsided a lot!

Will get X-ray done today and have my next meeting with him tomorrow with the X-ray result.

And do you know one of the best things about Dr. Darshan?

Just before I left his clinic he underlined one of the cell phone numbers in the prescription letter and said "This is my phone number. Call me if you have any problem".

I left the clinic thinking... "How many doctors does that?"

My husband's left arm was fractured for which dr Darshan Sonawane was recommend to us. Dr. Sonawane suggested strapping instead of operation after examination of CT and MRI and other reports. He explained about the whole process to me my husband and the relatives before strapping and how to take care of it post strapping. He made the patient and us comfortable throughout the process. He treated him very patiently gave us the best advice and calmly explained every thing. He has a good experience which you can see with the way he takes up the treatment. We were asked for follow up at regular intervals after the discharge in which he made a point to show me and my husband every time the xray was taken how much the bone has healed and how to take care of his arm. We are completely satisfied with the result of the treatment given by him. At the end of 6 weeks i see a good improvement in my husband's left arm. Dr. has lots of patience to listen and understand the patients needs and problems.

My wife’s left hand wrist fracture operation was performed by Dr.Darshan Sonawane on 28-October-2015 at Shashwat Hospital, Aundh. He carried out 3K wire surgery on the wrist. He explained about the operation to my wife, to me and the relatives before the operation. She was admitted in the hospital at 8a.m. and discharged at 4p.m. after the surgery. He made the patient and relatives accompanying her comfortable throughout the treatment. He treated her very patiently with the best advice. Follow up after the surgery was at regular intervals which is really a commendable job. We are satisfied with the result of the surgery.

He has enormous patience to listen and understand the difficulties and the sufferings experienced by the patient throughout the treatment. He advised us whenever we telephoned him. What I admire in Dr.Sonawane’s treatment is his soft skills, systematic methodologies and adaptation of well planned follow up schedules.

Dr.Sonawane suggested her to undertake physiotherapy for the left hand, wrist and fingers after removing the wires.. Physiotherapy treatment is being carried out.
