Ms. Samyuktha Annamraju says "I provide individual psychotherapy for a broad range of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, and body image concerns. My education at Columbia University has helped me understand mental disorders from a multi-path model which considers the interaction between one’s biological, psychological, social, and socio-cultural elements while providing therapy. Over the three years of being in the mental health field, I have developed an eclectic approach that primarily draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy. These approaches have equipped me with evidence-based tools and techniques thus, enhancing my interventions. I operate from a social justice lens and am an LGBTQ+ affirming practitioner.I drive my work with the belief that the key to change is in the therapeutic relationship. It is the immense empathy and unconditional acceptance of the person with a non-judgmental stance that facilitates them to have the same kind of attitude towards themselves and others around them. It is also in reminding the person that they are human, which means understanding and accepting the many realities that touch a person."
